GOD'S COMPASS

God's greatest gift of love is Jesus Christ, His Beloved and Only Begotten Son.  Jesus Christ is Our Advocate, Exemplar, Savior, Redeemer, and Spiritual Compass.

Virtuous Cycle

A chain of events in which one desirable occurrence leads to another which further promotes the first occurrence and so on resulting in a continuous process of improvement.

Vicious Cycle

A negative series of events that build on and reinforce each other, with detrimental results.

Jesus Christ

Under God's plan, Jesus Christ created the heavens and the earth so that each of us could have the mortal experience necessary to seek our divine destiny. As part of the plan, the Resurrection of Jesus Christ overcame death to assure each of us immortality. Jesus Christ’s atoning sacrifice gives each of us the opportunity to repent of our sins and return clean to our heavenly home. His commandments and covenants show us the way...And our Savior willingly experienced all mortal pains and infirmities so that He would know how to strengthen us in our afflictions.

Jesus Christ did all of this because He loves all of the children of God. Love is the motivation for it all, and it was so from the very beginning. God created … male and female, after his own image … ; and gave unto them commandments that they should love and serve him. DHO

Our life should be focused on Jesus Christ. Faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of all belief and the conduit of divine power. Faith in Him is the greatest power available to us in this life.

Everything good in life—every potential blessing of eternal significance—begins with faith. Allowing God to prevail in our lives begins with faith that He is willing to guide us. True repentance begins with faith that Jesus Christ has the power to cleanse, heal, and strengthen us. All things are possible to them that believe.

The Lord understands our mortal weakness. We all falter at times. But He also knows of our great potential. The mustard seed starts small but grows into a tree large enough for birds to nest in its branches. The mustard seed represents a small but growing faith. The Lord does not require perfect faith for us to have access to His perfect power. But He does ask us to believe.

The more you learn about the Savior, the easier it will be to trust in His mercy, His infinite love, and His strengthening, healing, and redeeming power. The Savior is never closer to you than when you are facing or climbing a mountain with faith.

The mountains in our lives do not always move how or when we would like. But our faith will always propel us forward. Faith always increases our access to godly power.

Growing faith in Jesus Christ will move mountains—not the mountains of rock that beautify the earth but the mountains of misery in our lives. Our flourishing faith will help us turn challenges into unparalleled growth and opportunity. RMN

Compass

A compass symbolizes safety and guidance; having a safe and secure journey and receiving guidance while exploring the world.  It points in the right direction. If you lose your way, you will always be able to find the right path to take you safely to your destination

Jesus Christ is symbolically our spiritual compass or "True North" that points to the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  His word, the scriptures, can be considered a personal compass, showing us the way.  He will guide us safely and securely to our heavenly destination if we will let him because He is our Savior and Redeemer.

When we follow Jesus as our true north, we must disregard the distractions and influences in the world that would change our course. Just as the readings of a compass may be corrupted due to nearby objects, so we are prone to be swayed by various attractions in the world. We must constantly realign ourselves to the example of our Savior. Our spiritual needles must point to objective truth and not turn after subjective opinions, changing values, or unpredictable rules. We must be like the man who built his house on the rock (Jesus Christ), not the sand.

When we understand everything the Savior did for us and continues to do for us, He should be the most important person we focus on every day.  Focusing on Jesus Christ and His gospel brings joy and peace, regardless of our circumstances.

He wants to share His light, power, and truth.  To receive His light, power, and truth, we need to do the spiritual work required every day, the small and simple actions illustrated in the GOD's COMPASS infographic.  When we do, we create a virtuous cycle in which we become more and more purified and sanctified by the Holy Spirit and we qualify to receive more and more of Christ's light, power, and truth.

God's Compass

GODSCOMPASS.ORG's purpose is to remind and educate people what the small and simple things are that God invites us to do daily throughout our life.  The goal of the website is to help us focus on Jesus Christ by exercising faith in Him.  By coming unto Christ, learning of Him, heeding His word, and continuing to follow His perfect example, we will come to know Him more and more which will qualify us for eternal life.

The word COMPASS is an acronym representing the small and simple action words we need to master in this life which we will, if we practice them every day.  In the process of consistently acting in faith, doing these small and simple actions, our heart will change and will continue to change and we will become more purified, sanctified, and prepared to live with God and Jesus Christ forever through the grace and power of Jesus Christ.
